HO
Born in Taiwan, Dorian made her New York solo piano debut at Carnegie
Recital Hall as Winner of the Thirteenth Annual Artists International
Competition. Dorian received her Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard
School of Music, Concert Diploma from the Vienna Academy of Music and
Art and holds a Ph.D. in Piano Performance from New York University.
Her teachers include Beatrice Beauregard, Martin Canin, Eugen List and
Bruno Seidlhofer. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras
in the U. S. Concerto appearances also include the Fine Arts Orchestra
of Taiwan, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Slovak Sinfonietta, the State Chamber
Orchestra of Kazakhstan, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest,
the Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic of Czech Republic and the Kiev Symphony
Orchestra and Chorus. Recently she performed with the Shanghai Symphony
Orchestra in a sold out concert at Shanghai Grand Theater. She has also
performed at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center, Davies Symphony Hall,
Herbst Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Hall as well as in Japan, China, Austria,
Russia, Switzerland and the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Taiwan for
former President Chieng Ching-kuo. Her chamber music performances included
concerts with the St. Petersburg String Quartet and frequent appearances
with the members of the San Francisco Symphony. She has recorded the
Robert Schumanns Piano Concerto with the Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic
and the Dvorak Piano Quintet with the Stamic String Quartet of Czech
Republic. Recently she performed solo recital in the season opening
for Emory Concert Series and Caltech Concert Series. Since 1988, she
has been a faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

STAMIC
QUARTET of Prague
The Stamic Quartet of Prague, formed in 1985, first came to international
acclaim when they won the EBU-sponsored International String Quartet
Competition in Salzburg in 1986. They have benefitted from the personal
guidance of their fellow countryman, the Smetana Quartet, and are now
established as worthy members of this great Czech tradition. Their repertoire
includes the works of Janacek, Smetana, Borodin, Dvorak and Martinu,
as well as Haydn, Mazart, Shostakovich, Schnittke and Haba. The Stamic
Quartet travels extensively throughout the USA, Japan, Indonesia and
Europe, where they appear in all the major capitals. Their festival
appearances have included the Prague Spring, Carinthian Summer, Gstaad,
Kuhmo Chamber Music, Helsinki and Montpellier festivals. Recent engagements
have included a tour of the USA with concerts at the Kennedy Center,
Washington and the Metropolitan Museum, New York, as well as concerts
in Canada, Mexico, Israel, the UK (Wigmore Hall), Germany (Beethoven
Halle, Bonn), Spain, Macao, Taiwan and Japan.

Since its creation in 1969, the Haydn-Mozart sized Bohemian Chamber
Philharmonic has achieved extraordinary artistic growth under the continued
excellence of leadership by the areas most renowned conductors,
among them Libor Pesek, Petr Altrichter, Josef Vlach, Libor Hlavacek,
Petr Skvor and Robert Stankowsky, a veritable "whos who"
of internationally acclaimed Czech and Slovak maestros.
More than 300 tours abroad have spread the reputation of the orchestra
throughout Europe and Asia, including appearances in Vienna, Milan (at
La Scala), Venice, Musich, Amsterdam, Brussels, Tokyo and Osaka.
The Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic has appeared at international festivals
such as the Prague Spring Festival, the Berlin Sebastian Bach Days,
the Flemish Music Festival, the Bratislava Festival, the Music Festival
of Brno, the Festival of Czechoslovak Culture in Cita di Castell, and
regularly for the Mozart Society in Dortmund.
